Delivering new opportunities

As the new European Batteries production facility in Varkaus, Finland begins operations in the spring of 2010, it will be the first independent large lithium-ion battery manufacturing unit in Europe. Focusing on latest lithium-ion technology and cell size of more than 0,1 kWh, the plant aims to reach an annual production capacity of 300 MWh by the year 2012. As both cell manufacturing and battery control system development work takes place under one roof, European Batteries is also able to provide convenient pre-testing opportunities and improved operating reliability.
